College

My transition from high school to college was bigger than most. To start with, I had never visited Georgia Southern's campus until my trip down for SOAR, I had never moved EVER, and my parents told me they were getting divorced the week before I moved down for school. Thank goodness my twin sister came with me and was going through everything at the same time!

Starting college felt surreal, had my parents not have pushed me to apply for schools, I would have been sitting at home still feeling like I was too young for college and not ready for this next big step! I felt like I had been thrown into this next step of my life, I had NO idea what to expect and I had NO motivation to embrace it!

My first semester of college flew by, most of my time was spent meeting new people and developing friendships that would grow into my best friends! To say the least, my grades definitely reflected my priorities and by the end of my freshman year I needed a wake up call! Not only was I not ready for college when I went to school, but I was not ready to except the responsibility or think realistically! Since high school flew by and I should have known college would too!

Now in my final semester of college, it still feels surreal! I still feel like I am too young to be looking for not only a job, but a career that I have earned! I know that this is the time to embrace it!

The most important thing I have learned through everything is that my most satisfying work has provided the most challenges and the most rewarding outcomes!

Soon to be...

  1. college really does fly by, but it is a great learning enviornment for all of us. Not only educational wise, but it teaches us responsibility and general life lessons. Hope everything goes well with your CAREER search!

  2. My college years definitely flew by and were the best years of my life, and I know I can walk away with friendships that will last a lifetime as well as a degree that no one can take away from me. I know you will succeed in whatever direction you decide to go after graduation and make a great designer.

  3. I took a year off after high school and went to school for my two year degree before I went to college for my four year degree. I still feel like I am in high school sometimes when I think of how old I really am it feels weird.
